Dovel provides provide full testing services (planning, execution, reporting for functional, integration, smoke, stress, and performance testing) across the Department of Education to ensure that key citizen-facing websites are highly available and functional.
For the Federal Student Aid (FSA), Dovel provides performance testing support for over 40 applications including the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) and studentloans.gov. The team engages in user simulations to identify hidden or latent performance issues before they impact users in the production environment. Dovel provides performance and capacity recommendations during the Production Readiness Review for each tested application. This enables FSA to deploy the application into production without performance concerns about supporting peak user load.
Also within the FSA on the Integrated Student Experience (ISE) project, Dovel provides system testing support to consolidate websites and data access to provide college and college-bound students and their parents with all of the information they need about Federal aid. Found at StudentAid.gov, the site is a one-stop-shop for students, parents, and borrowers to get information about and apply for Federal aid. The Dovel team tests new and updated functionalities of ISE to ensure all defects are resolved before they are rolled out into production. Dovel’s practices and procedures for this project are based on its CMMI® ML 3 appraised methodologies that were tailored to the FSA’s practices and methodologies.
