As Vice President of Human Resources and Recruiting, Sharon Palmeter oversees all aspects of the employee lifecycle – from recruiting and hiring, through training, development, compensation, and benefits. Over the course of her over 20 year career in Human Resources (HR) and recruiting, Palmeter has applied her passion for implementing creative HR recruiting and retention programs to companies, large and small, to support the organization’s revenue and workplace goals.
Palmeter joined Dovel from QinetiQ, where she served as the Federal contractor’s Director of Talent Acquisition for the company’s 3,000-person Mission Solutions Group. While at QinetiQ, Palmeter implemented compliance best practices; created an executive recruiting dashboard reporting system for senior leadership to review recruiting metrics bi-weekly; architected a reporting structure for the recruiting organization that positioned the company for growth; oversaw the development of interview training for hiring managers; and created an innovative program to capture 80% of resumes in fewer than 90 days.
Palmeter previously served as Vice President of Recruiting at Apptis, Inc. and Recruiting Program Manager at Nextel Communications/Sprint Nextel Corporation.
Palmeter holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Small Business Management from Radford University in Virginia. She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and Women in Technology (WIT).
