Letter From Paul
Team
As we move into the last month of the government fiscal year, we’re all feeling that déjà vu Congressional crunch once again with talk about the debt ceiling, budget approvals, government shutdown, and a continuing resolution – and even though we have been through this before, we still need to take these activities very seriously. We will monitor the situation very closely and keep you informed.
We go into the new Government Fiscal Year with a lot of optimism around continued growth and expansion. Our CMO team has developed a great pipeline of opportunities that could really expand and increase our growth trajectory. There are also a number of emerging markets that we are pursuing through protoypes. These are being identified through our relationships with AABB, as well as, with a couple of the local Hospital Systems.
Our business continues to remain strong. We have continued to experience outstanding customer performance across the company. MSC has seen solid growth since the beginning of the year, and with the contract extensions anticipated for both Grants Solutions and FDA/EON we have significantly reduced our profile of Small Business set-aside revenue – a great accomplishment for Dovel/MSC team.
This summer we captured some really interesting work with the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER). This project continues the work CBER has started on configuring, integrating, and developing the StarLIMS Laboratory Information Management Solution (LIMS) for CBER. The work will focus on the production deployment of our integrated LIMS solution allowing for continued expansion and integration across CBER’s laboratories. The solution will allow for CBER’s laboratories to benefit from an integrated electronic laboratory ecosystem that supports automation of data collection, process standardization, increased compliance and traceability, integration with other quality and safety data systems, automated sample tracking, workflow management, real-time audit, and transparency across FDA laboratory functions. We are working with prime contractor, Precise on this project. We are looking forward to using our FDA LIMS experience to guide a successful execution of this work.
I hope you all take a small break from your work to look through this issue. We highlight some of the amazing talent we have in the company. In this issue, we highlight several ways our employees are sharing their expertise with the wider contracting and business community. From authoring blog posts, to speaking at events, to being recognized with national awards, the Dovel and MSC teams are getting their names as thought leaders out into the wider IT community.
As always, thank you for all you do for your customers, the company, and (most importantly) for each other. Here’s to a happy and optimistic (government fiscal) new year!
Paul.
