Adam Welsh Named to Tech Council of Maryland Board

Adam Welsh, Senior Vice President Market Development and Strategy has been appointed to the board for the Tech Council of Maryland (TCM).

TCM is the largest technology trade group serving the advanced technology and biotechnology communities of Maryland. TCM’s mission is to advocate for the interests of the technology community, further the role of technology in the Maryland economy, and nurture an environment where technology companies can collaborate, grow and succeed.

Welsh has been focused on the life sciences sector for much of his career. He developed a first-ever maturity model and decision support tool to help the National Cancer Institute and community cancer centers develop effective deployment strategies for oncology-specific electronic health record (EHR) components. He also worked with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to develop a toolkit for Health IT software sustainability for dissemination to healthcare provider grantees. Welsh has served on several national committees and Boards including the National Health Information Technology Collaborative for the Underserved, National Patient Safety Foundation’s Corporate Council, Consumers Advancing Patient Safety, American Medical Group Association’s Results Based Payment Initiative, and Vice Chair for the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Government Relations Roundtable.
