Dovel Caps a Productive Year of Growth and Customer Success

McLean, VA, January 19, 2021 – Dovel Technologies, a trusted partner to federal agencies that blends deep domain expertise and advanced technologies in the health IT, life sciences, public safety, and grants management has been named a 2020 Northern Virginia Technology Council Tech 100 honoree. The list recognizes the Greater Washington region’s top technology companies and leaders that demonstrate dedication, vision, and innovation. This recognition comes on the heels of a productive year for Dovel.

Although 2020 brought many challenges, Dovel achieved a wide range of strategic objectives, including winning over $425M in contracts, hiring almost 500 new employees, and successfully completing the AceInfo integration. Dovel earned new work under the General Services Administration (GSA) Alliant II vehicle with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and expanded its footprint within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Health and Life Science work grew throughout the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The Company’s breadth of contract vehicles has provided the opportunity to win business, while new customers, contracts, and capabilities led to opportunities for skill development, further education, and career mobility for employees.

Dovel began the year outlining the company’s strategic plan with three primary objectives of 1) being  employer of choice via employee growth opportunities, 2) providing right fit solutions that lead to customer success, and 3) cultivating entrepreneurial DNA that fuels the creation of innovative solutions. Despite the unforeseen events of a global pandemic, Dovel continued to thrive and provide unparallel service to its customers. The Company quickly moved to telework where possible, ensuring all employees on government sites or otherwise had the support and resources needed to complete their work, safely. CEO, Damon Griggs, continued to provide high-touch communication and provided enhanced benefits to support employees during these unprecedented times.

As public attention turned to racial justice, Dovel established a Diversity and Inclusion Committee to reaffirm the Company’s commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all team members. The D&I Committee developed key objectives as well as relationships with a number of organizations to better support Dovel’s employees as well as impactful initiatives in the community.

The Company also developed the Innovation and Technology Group (ITG) to lead all innovation and technology initiatives and advancements for the organization. It is a cross-functional team that fosters partnerships and knowledge sharing to build solutions to address the most complex problems facing our customers. Since its creation, the ITG launched Discover, a digital platform that serves as a lab and showroom for the Company’s technical solutions.

Additionally, Dovel announced the creation of an Advisory Board to guide its vision to successfully scale the business to deliver solutions that have a positive impact across the federal government. This focus furthers Dovel’s ability to develop leading edge solutions that address current and future challenges of government customers.

“We’ve had quite a year and I am proud to lead a group of extremely talented and driven individuals who constantly put our customers’ missions first while supporting each other,” said Griggs. “Our success is not possible without our team and I’m looking forward to 2021 where we will continue to take on work that has a true impact to improve, protect, and save lives.”

Dovel made the Inc. 5000 list for the fifth year in a row; named Contractor of the Year, $75-$300M, in the NOVA Chamber GovCon Awards; listed on Bloomberg Governments BGOV200 List of Top Federal Contractors; and received many other awards including WashingtonExec’s Top Executives to Watch and Pinnacle Awards.
