Dovel Technologies Earns CMMI Level 3 Appraisal

Company earns recognition for third time signifying ongoing commitment to quality processes

McLean, VA June 26, 2014Dovel Technologies, a leader in software application development and emerging information technology solutions, announced today that the company has been re-appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Model Maturity Integration (CMMI).Dovel has been CMMI Level 3 appraised  since 2008.

The appraisal was performed by The Process Company. The appraisal team evaluated four  programs across Dovel’s Health IT and Enterprise Solutions Groups.

“Over the years, Dovel has shown a continued focus on establishing, following, and building  strong organizational standard processes,” said Andy Felschow, CMMI Institute CertifiedLead Appraiser. “As the company has grown they have taken special care to ensure that their quality process grows with the company to meet the needs of large, complex projects.”

An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates that the organization performs at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.

Every year, Dovel releases their Quality Report which illustrates the company’s ongoing commitment to continuous quality improvement through data collection, measurement and analysis. . This year’s report again shows above industry standard quality with 0.3 defects per function point (compared to an industry average of 5.0) as well as an 96% defect removal rate (compared to  85% industry average).
