Dovel is committed to the communities in which we live and work. Through corporate support and the efforts of our Dovel Giving Back committee we participate in outreach programs including fundraising, volunteering at events, and gathering donations.
Home Stretch
Home Stretch empowers homeless families with children living in Virginia to attain permanent housing and self-sufficiency by giving them the skills, knowledge and hope they need to become productive participants in the community. Dovel raises money and participate in resume and interview coaching sessions with families looking to gain meaningful employment.
ComfortCases
ComfortCases is an organization that provides foster care and at-risk children ages 0-18 with a backpack of essential items when they enter the foster program. Dovel organizes collections for the necessary items across our offices.
PreventCancer 5K Walk
PreventCancer 5K Walk raises money for cancer research and awareness programs. For the past three years Dovel has been the largest team participating with about 50 people each year, raising more than $4,000.
AngelTree Network
AngelTree Network is an “adopt a family” program for holiday giving. Dovel coordinates the matching of employees and employee groups with families and then collects and delivers the gifts.
Serving Together
Serving Together coordinates a network of public, private, and nonprofit organizations of to help guide veterans, service members, and their families to the most appropriate services and resources available. Dovel offers space in the McLean office to staff for day-to-day work as well as meeting space.
Community Foundation for Northern Virginia
The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia connects donor resources with the needs of its community. Dovel supports the foundation through fundraising efforts.
Children’s Inn at NIH
Children’s Inn at NIH is a residential “Place Like Home’’ for families with children participating in leading-edge research studies at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dovel supports the facility through fundraising efforts.
Veterans Employment Initiative
Veterans Employment Initiative connects Veterans and military spouses to employment opportunities and provides support to companies in their efforts to recruit, hire, train, and retain qualified veteran and military spouse employees. Dovel supports this effort through our work with the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC).
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)
NSBE supports and promotes the aspirations of collegiate and pre-collegiate students and technical professionals in engineering and technology. Dovel supports NSBE through sponsored scholarships to college students in need of financial support to pursue engineering and applied science degrees.
Black Girls CODE (BCG)
Founded on the pillars of empowerment and education, BGC is dedicated to leveling the playing field for girls of color in STEM. Designed for girls and young women between the ages of 7 to 17, BGC aims to inspire youth to become innovators in STEM fields, leaders in their communities, and builders of their own futures. Dovel supports the organization with donations of laptops and hotspots as well as financial scholarships to provide direct 1-1 impact to girls in need.
